Currently: The Novel Race (a/k/a the New Gimmick)
I have four potential novels that I have various ideas, outlines, scenes, etc, written for. A couple of mornings a week (I am aiming for Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, but let’s be honest, once a week will be better than nothing) I will be writing pieces of them here, based on whichever one I’m most inspired to work on that day. It’s my hope that one will emerge as the clear front-runner, so I can focus my energies on that. Because if writing one novel is stupid, writing four is ludicrous.
Previously on The Dictionary Project…
I work in publishing in Chicago, a job that involves mostly spreadsheets and meetings and schedules and budgets. I love it, but I needed a creative outlet. So the Dictionary Project started off with a plan: every Sunday, I would pick a random word from the dictionary and in two hours write and post something based on that word. I did that for a year, fairly successfully, and now that I’ve wrapped that up, I’ll just be using this as a repository for bits and scraps of other writing. Until I come up with a new gimmick, anyway.
